Sports & Events Assistants

We are seeking several Sports & Events Assistants to join our team at Oxford University Sport. These roles offer a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of sporting activities, events, and student groups, ensuring a safe, efficient and quality experience / service for all users and event attendees.

The University of Oxford supports students across all levels of sport – from those competing internationally, to those involved in college, club, and recreational activities. Our programmes aim to enhance the sporting experience for everyone, helping students maintain a healthy balance between physical activity, academic commitments, and personal wellbeing.

As part of this role, you will contribute to the delivery of specific sport and physical activity events, from BUCS fixture days with multiple fixtures taking place, to Varsity weekends supporting specific event logistics and ticketed participation and/or spectator events in specific sports.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Oxford’s student community, providing an enjoyable experience for users and event attendees that enhances wellbeing, encourages participation in sport and physical activity, and supports performance where needed.

These roles are variable hours and shifts will be offered to the successful candidates at varying days and times throughout the year. Most of our sporting events will take place in afternoons, evenings and at weekends, with a large ratio of these events taking place within university term time.
